Knicks Twitter Classic
I’m overthinking it, just start writing and keep flowing. Year 2, I had to start over yet keep going. Had to clear so many hurdles, it was getting to be weird. Luckily I know that obstacles exist to be cleared. Undeterred and too determined. My community deserved it. And I know I’ve got their trust but had to prove that I could earn it. So much to say I’m speechless so it’s tougher to begin, I don’t have the words to capture how much love was in the gym.
He said he wouldn’t miss it, then he truly appeared. My favorite player hugged me like he knew me for years. As far as moments go there’s very few that compare. I left with a couple lessons, a few that I’ll share. He taught me don’t just enjoy the journey, seize the destination. And I got to tell him ‘bout our six degrees of separation. Interviewed him on behalf of the network that raised me. When I write about my reality, it’s getting to be crazy. Living proof that I’mPossible and so are you. I used to think that I was destined, now I know it’s true. It’s been a week, already they’re the fondest of memories. I got to connect my people to the Hart of the City. Flooded with congratulations because everyone heard, I want to thank them both for being men of their word. They showed up during a storm amidst a busy schedule. Their demeanors were warm and it was so incredible. The beauty of a plan is in the moment that you see it through. We’re blessed to have our heroes both be champions as people too.
Knicks Twitter means the world to me and everyone in it. The entire day was so beautiful I’ll never forget it. And the kindness people show to me inspiring the growth in me. Proud of where I am but excited for where I hope to be. I’m perpetually driven by a need to be better. God has blessed me with the gift of bringing people together. And he blessed me with the people he surrounded me with. We turned this into a family, I found them as friends. And the beauty of it all, we’ll be around to the end. The Knicks Twitter Classic was so much fun this year. And the beauty in that is it’s only up from here.
